Robert Primm
B.A. University of Florida
A.S. Tampa Technology Institute

After fifteen years in the business world as an Electronics Technician for IBM, Bob Primm is returning to education as our 6th grade teacher for 2006-2007. Following his graduation from the University of Florida with a B.A. in Political Science and History with a 6-12 teaching certification, Mr. Primm taught in the Florida school system. In 1978, Bob served our country in the U.S. Navy with duties in the Navigation Department. After his honorable discharge in 1982, he completed further studies at Tampa Technical Institute where he served as teacher aide and lab assistant. As an honor graduate with an Associate Degree in Computer Engineering Technology, Mr. Primm worked for IBM until his retirement in 2006.

Working on a graduate degree at TAMU-T inspired Mr. Primm to return to the classroom - and so he has! Mr. Primm's wife is an elementary school teacher and he has just taken one child to college, and has one who attends Pleasant Grove High School.

Thanks to the memorial donation for Chris Hailey by his classmates and family, 6th grade has embarked on their robotic adventure with Lego Mindstorms.

LEGO® MINDSTORMS™ enables students to design and program real robots that do what they want them to. With the Robotics Invention System 2.0™, the core set of the LEGO MINDSTORMS product range, students can create everything from a light-sensitive intruder alarm to a robotic rover that can follow a trail, move around obstacles, and even duck into dark corners. Once student teams build their robotic machines, they write computer programs to control the various actions and sensors wired to the computer.
