Katherine Edmonds begins year FOUR in St. James Day School's
first grade! With
fifteen years teaching
experience in kindergarten, first, and second grades in private
schools, Ms. Edmonds brings a wealth of knowledge to our program.
In addition to her bachelor's degree from California Baptist University,
she has earned 30 graduate hours from Texas Christian University
and the University of California, Riverside. In addition to being
an experienced teacher in the primary grades, Ms. Edmonds is fluent
in Spanish and has taught it both here and in the mission field.
She often helps all Lower School grades prepare special music
for Big Chapel on Tuesdays, and this year she also plays piano
for Big Chapel every week! We LOVE Ms. Edmonds!
Tuesday: Have your child spell the words
orally and use in a sentence.
Wednesday: Dictate the words and have your
child write them. Then give them a clue to see if they can find
the word. For example, if the word were high, you could ask them
what the opposite of low is. This helps with word meaning.
Thursday: Dictate words, reminding them of the objectives
for the week.
